When you use UtaBridge, we collect the following information:

  • Authentication Data (via Google OAuth): Email address, name, and profile picture. This data is stored for account identification and authentication purposes only.
  • Song Metadata (for translation): Song title, album name, and artist name are sent to our server to provide translation and romanization services via Google Cloud Translation API. This metadata may be cached in our database to optimize API calls (avoiding repeated translations for the same songs).

3. Purpose of Data Collection

We collect and process your information for the following purposes:

  • To authenticate and identify users for extension functionality
  • To provide real-time translation and romanization of Japanese song titles
  • To improve and maintain the extension's performance and features

Authentication Data: Stored indefinitely for account management until you request deletion.

Song Metadata Cache: Song title, album name, and artist name may be cached in our database to optimize Google Cloud Translation API calls. This cache is purely functional and is not associated with user accounts or used for tracking purposes. There is no retention period — cached data persists only for as long as it remains useful for avoiding duplicate API calls.

We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.

7. Third-Party Services

UtaBridge uses the following third-party services:

  • Google OAuth: Used for user authentication. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Google Cloud Translation API: Used to translate and romanize song metadata. Only the song title, album name, and artist name are sent to this service for processing.

8. Children's Privacy

UtaBridge is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
